  1. offensively, move to open areas of the field and do alot of passing. USE YOUR SUPPORT! pass back, square passes, send it. lots of passing is really good for a beginner to do. also communicate alot. tell your team when they have a man on, or if they have time, yell for the ball, just yell to distract the other team, whatever :)

  2. From a defensive point of view, you've gotta now whether your supposed to be marking zonally or man to man. From there you should know what your supposed to be doing, and also the way your team mates are likely to react.

A good defender should constantly be assessing possible pass routes, looking for the angle that would be most suited for a pass by your opponents, and then getting yourself in the correct position to intercept the pass.

Analyse where your opponents have passed to, who they have passed to, and what foot they have used to make the pass, so that you are in a better situation to anticipate the play.
