Are you confusing a registration number instead of an IP address?  IP address are always 4 sets of 3 numbers (for instance 192.9.200.4) - can you give us more information?

  2. go to start, click run,in the box type CMD,then click ok,a black command box will come up,in the box type ipconfig/ release (notice the space before release),then wait about 30 seconds and type in ipconfig/ renew (notice the space again) and that should renew your ip address.now if you want to know the ip address after you do that type in ipconfig or ipconfig/ all (notice space again) in the CMD box if you need more help email me.do not type (notice the space) in the CMD box.

  3. This can be a bunch of different things. This is an issue with your Windows box.

    One Possible Solution:

In some cases, ethernet cards cards now have a power save options that will turn off the Network Interface Card when you are not connected to the network or internet. This is not true for ALL cards but most do.

    1. Right Click on My Network Places or Network Connections > Properties.

    2. Right Click on the appropriate Local Area Connection > Properties.

    3. Click on the Configure button besides the Network Card information under General Tab, this will open the Ethernet cards Properties box.

    4. Click on Advanced Tab.

    5. Looks for any Power Saving Feature, or Automatic Shutdown Feature. If you have on you can simply disable the option and click OK so that Windows will not disable the card when not in use.

If that doesn't work.. try calling Micrsoft.

  4. Something is screwy here.  No legitimate software can require information about an IP address (which is what you are referring to).  The typical user has dynamically assigned IP addresses, specified by the ISP and subject to change.
