How to stop unwanted calls?

I am on the national and state do not call list, but in the past 2 days I have received around 25 calls from an 866 number. When I answer the line goes silent or they hang up. I have tried calling back but it just keeps ringing. How do I stop the calls or block the #. Thanks.

I would say contact your phone provider and ask them to change your number .

You can out your number on a no call list! I think you can go on line to do this! I think its called no call list dot gov! Sorry I don't have a link to web site! My hubby did a no call list so I don't know!

You can't block landline calls. ALl you could probably do is report it. I know, it gets irritating. Otherwise, there's not much to be done about it.

either that see if you can get your number changed and make sure your number is unlisted.

if he call is made from the uk you can sign up to the telephone preference service, this should stop unsolicited sales calls, if the call comes from abroad its a little harder. if your with bt you can buy a service which allows you to bar malicious calls from anyone who does not wit hold their number costs about £10 per 1/4. when they phone jsut hang up and then enter the code provided gluck.
