I agree it would be mucho better if they could all speak American but your average illegal comes from a very poor neighborhood with little or no schooling or food. Wouldn't it be nice if we lived in a world with one language and everyone had a comfortable life style?

  1. Theres a language called American???..I've never heard of it in my life, I must be an Illegal as well.

  2. to letrell: The one who ask talks about American English.

That may be a good idea. But people over the world may be unique that's why we have different languages. Anyways, teaching good English to illegals may not be difficult as long as one wants learn and he/she is interested with it.

  3. I have to disagree and agree some.

I believe American is not a language but a cultural nationality, the language would be English which is America's primary language. It would definetly be an advantage if all immigrants, illegals or whatever people want to call it, or even citizens from foreign countries do speak English, its very good to know at least more than just one language. the sad story is that Americans are not willing to learn a second language such as spanish, or any other which is also an advantage and Americans instead are whinning of how people speak other foreign languages around them and how bilingual people steal their jobs, blah blah. well I think is time that Americans (Im a proud bilingual Amerian) stop whinning and learn more than just three languages and they will be outstanding and I bet foreign people will appreciate us better instead of hating us so much. I hate to say that it would be uniteresting to live one life style under one language, we need variety in our lives or else they wouldnt be culture and thats the interesting part of life.

  4. WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THAT YOU COULD THEN START ON THE LEGALS

  5. There's a language that people invented called Esperanto, it's entirely regular and would have been very useful if everyone spoke it.

It never really hit it off though, it would be good if every single person could communicate.

I agree that all native English speakers should be taught proper English - imagine being French or German and trying to relate some half-pronounced colloquialisms to what you learn in your English lessons!
