How to train cats???

I have two male cats that are about one year old. Suddenly, they've stopped using the litter box. I don't think they're marking their territory, or anything. Is there anyway to retrain them?

  1. thats because they are not neutered. its normal for MALE cats.

  2. When they are starting to go to the bathroom, put them, in the litterbox. problem solved. and alot of times it works to take both of there front paws and dig with them in the litter. i think.

    have fun.

    bye

  3. cats go to a litter box by instinct. if they are going on the floor u can put something in the spot they r going on. like a couch or a table. sometimes its because the litter box is full or they are territorial. try having each their own box.

  4. Squirt them with water everytime they wee/poo outside their litterbox and reward them everytime they do use their litter box.  Make sure you squirt them at the time they are doing whatever it is they're doing otherwise they will get confused

    Good luck!

  5. yeah get them neutered

i thought my cat how to use the toilet its funny lol

  6. GET THEIR PAWS AND COVER THEIR {+++++++++++++}

AND THEYLL SEE THATS WHAT I NEED TO DO,

THAT WHAT I DID SHE LEARNED !

    :]

    GOOD LUCK!

  7. Patience is a virtue......don't let them get away with being 'naughty'...stick to your rules,.....patience, patience, patience.

You must let them know that you're the boss and not them!!!

  8. Maybe you can use one of those pads that you put on the ground and they just have this scent or something that attracts cats. You can probably get them at a local mass retailer. If it doesn't work, you can go to PetSmart or something and get them trained by a professional, like once a week or something like that, there are lots of schedules to choose from.

  9. Inappropriate urination is a complex problem in cats.

If they are not neutered, this is very normal.  Either neuter them or get used to living in a cat pee smell.

Also consider that they could have a Urinary tract infection.  If you feed whiskas or Fancy feast, or Special Kitty, they are at high risk of having a UTI.

Get a checkup at the vet.  they can probably get a urine sample there if you contain the cat(s) for a few hours before the appointment.

Also, get each cat his own litter box.  sometimes they don't like to share.

  10. My male cat began spraying/urinating again after he was neutered.  He was pissed off because I closed the door to his favorite room and he couldn't get in, so he sprayed the door.  I opened the door and let him back in the room and he quit.  Has something changed in you cats' routine lately? Is their litter box clean and odor free (that's a biggie).  I'm assuming they are urinating in the same spot each time.  Clean the area with a good enzyme cleaner and/or odor reducer; Urine Gone is a good one, then spray the area with a repellent to keep them away.  I found peppermint water sprayed on the area will keep them away. Peppermint gum at a gopher hole entrance runs gophers off too, just thought I'd throw that in.  Very good luck.  Cats are so precious.
