How to use ftp?

As we download the ftp software,then we run it,we have to give particular web site details like server,username,password&port.to connect the server,after connecting we couldnt send our files to them why?

You may be connected as "anonymous" or your logon is not configured to allow you to send files to the server. Check that your logon information is correct, or contact the administrator of the ftp server you are trying to connect to.
