How to wire a twin adapter.?

I bought a twin adaptor and am having problems wiring it.

There are three terminals in a straight line with no markings to indicate which is Live, Neutral and Earth.

The instructions simply say to coonect the wires to these terminals but I don't know which is which.

I hope this makes sence to someone.

  1. If you are using  a 2 way to 3 way adaptor, then you are disabling the earth connection (asumming the adaptor is wired correctly!).  The appliance MAY be using the earth connection as a safety feature, so it is unfortunate if you have no choice but to use a 2 way to 3 way adaptor!

Connecting the live to the neutral, or the neutral to the live does not really matter as you have only changed the polarity (its Alternating Current).  It should still work!

I don't know if the earth belongs to the appliance you are using, or to the building.  Either way I think it is VERY VERY VERY important that you DO NOT accidentally connect the live or the neutral to the earth!  Doing so will either make the pipes and radiators around your house "live", or the casing of the appliance "live".  There is the risk of ELECTROCUTION if you accidentally do this!

I'm definitely not an expert in this field, but I think I can see some of the dangers!  Get the advice of someone standing next to you who genuinely knows what they're doing!

I'm sorry but without more information I can't really help!  STAY SAFE!
