  1. What Holdin M said is accurate, but just to clarify, you would want to connect the Positive of one battery to the Negative of the other battery, and then use the other two open battery terminals the way you normally would. Keep in mind that you do not want to use the resulting 24 volts on a 12 volt circuit.

    If you want more capacity, you would want to do the parallel circuit, which can be accomplished by hooking Positive to Positive, and Negative to Negative between the two batteries, and then connecting the circuit to one of the batteries like normal. This in effect gives you the amperage of both batteries while keeping the voltage the same.


  2. OK series is like in a golf car in order to make 36volts from 6  6 volt batteries.   Parallel is like in a diesel pickup with 2 batteries to make a starting system with 24 volts for cranking those big engines.  

  3. series is plus to minus

    parallel is plus to plus

    series doubles the voltage

    parallel doubles the current
