Photoshop and other software applications let you do this easily by allowing you to compose a picture in layers. The girl could have been one picture, the boy touching the glass another. Using the boy as the background shot, it's possible to take the girl picture, cut around her pixel by pixel to drop away her entire background and then position her exactly where she is. You could also expand her, contract her, stretch her, color her, bevel her, etc. or even put a hat on her head by using any one of PS's hundreds of effects. PS is totally amazing for working with graphics!

I've got an even simpler explanation......it's not a mirror, it's a piece of glass. The "reflection" is of a shower curtain, but you can't see behind the girl to tell whether it's actually a reflection of not. It would have taken a lot of set-up with the sink and everything, but who knows.
