  1. In addition to shrinking your waist, it also contracts your uterus, healing you quicker.  I've also read that it prevents breast cancer!

  2. It helps to cut calories which helps the mom loose weight and get back to her pre-pregnancy size after the baby!

  3. From birth, it releases oxytocin every time baby suckles which naturally shrink the uterus......a breastfeeding mom doesn't need pitocin like the hospital routinely gives. It continues releasing oxytocin which allows for mom to be calmer in the majority of cases! Lowers chances of ovarian and breast cancer. Puts the calcium back into the bone marrow, which you will find that the majority of older aged women now adays with osteoparosis did not breastfeed, which was common for their time! Burns calories (not always losing weight immediately, but over a longer time). Brings your hips back together almost to pre-pregnancy size before child's first birthday.

Easier in the sense of not needing to make bottles in the middle of the night, or when out and out about to find the right temperature! An awesome baby soother, which makes mom less stressed. It tends to make most moms rethink their diets and thus eating better! I don't remember the rest!

  4. Reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

  5. yes breastfeeding moms loss 500-600 calories a day, plus it helps loss weight faster

  6. I agree with Brena.  It is also one crazy bonding experience.  I know, I thought, whatever, until I had my daughter and decided to breastfeed.  It's such a wonderfully unique feeling, to be the one that provides for your baby in a way no one else can.  Plus, I would say a huge benefit is not having to go through formulas to find a tummy friendly one, boiling water and mixing formula or dropping loads more cash on premade cans and the constant disinfecting of bottles all day long.... not to mention the health scares... the dreaded BPA is no longer only in plastic bottles, but also been proven to be in liquid formula cans as well.  Strange as it may sound, breastfeeding can actually provide you with more quality time with your new babe and give you a little more you time as well.  All that time saved on bottle mixin' n' cleanin'.  Oh and my b*****s are always with us no matter where we go... lol... never have to worry about having to heat a bottle... dunno for you, but these are all benefits to me! =)  Good luck with whatever you decide.

  7. It helps your uterus return to post pregnancy size and it burns approximately 500 calories a day!

  8. it can reduce the chances of the mother getting breast cancer later in her life!

and it burns calories helping to burn off baby fat

it causes small contactions in the uterus after having bubs which helps things heal and get back to normal.

    Its free

Its convienient and so easy. baby food on tap always ready to go!

    and helps bond with baby

  9. You burn more calories from producing the breastmilk and so you loose weight quicker.  Also you go back to ur prepregnancy size sooner bc it shrinks ur uterus back to it's normal size faster.  Also many ppl don't get a period while breastfeeding although u can still get pregnant.  It helps u bond with the baby too bc it is so close to you.

  10. weight loss, bonding with baby, if you breast feed exclusively for the first year you save up to 3,000 dollars (no bottles or formula to be bought-says my son's pedi), I've also read that a bf mother is 10 times less likely to develop ppd

  11. It forces you to slow down and relax. with a bottle, you can get away with propping it up, or give someoene else the responsilbilty of feeding. but when you nurse, you've got to be calm and relaxed, so this way you give your body more time to heal

  12. everyone has mostly covered the lose weight faster, shrinking uterus stuff, my OB told me they have actually found now that women who BF for 24 months, (wow) have lowered BP.
