The 'new' government after much study of motorcycle accident statistics and complaints from the motoring public in general up and BANS all motorcycles from public roadways.

What would you do if this ever happened?

Just thinking out loud.

  1. If they did, then the public would have to deal with that fact. However, people would still build and ride them on their own property and on back roads or country roads.

  2. I don't think an outright ban would ever happen. But, you can bet the do-gooders will try to saddle us with so many safety restrictions "for our own good" that it would virtually kill any enjoyment we get from riding. That's why I am a member of, and give all the support i can to MRO's like ABATE and MMA. If you ride you need to find a group that you like and join the fight to keep our right to ride.

  3. Revolt, as specified in Article 10 of my State constitution.

Then I'd probably have to ride two hours to get to the border to save my bacon.

    Got room, maddog?

  4. That would confirm my decision to move to Europe

  5. Move to canaduh and ride illegal with maddog, or turn indianjohn loose in the white house.

  6. Considering motorcycles are better on gas and for the environment this will never happen in todays world. Look at europe. Alot more motorcycles on the road because of space and cost of fuel.

  7. Keep riding in the dirt!!!

  8. Id buy about 50 Kegs and give them to any outlaw group that wanted one, then sit back and enjoy the show. Nothing like drunken bikers being told not to do something!

  9. Go North and visit Snoop and Maddog.

  10. I would be pissed! Most likely I would ride them anyway... dodge/evade the pigs...

  11. id do what i do now.....ride illegally

  12. To many motorcycle riders out there to ever let this become more than a pipe dream.  IF anything were ever to make it's way out of the obscure realm of someones dream to ban motorcycles it would do one thing.  Get all riders to band together to reject this.

EDIT: ok IF they did, that would mean that the system failed us, I would assume that the "new" government is 1984 style big brother, small bands of rebel bikers would huddle together in the arid wastelands of state of Cali-Ari-Ore-Utaixico with their "lazer" guns - having to dodge the killer robots who hunt down bikers and make them watch hello dolly until they break.  The new breed of outlaw bikers would roam the wastelands with leather chaps and purple Mohawks - one man would come to save them... his name would be max.

  13. I've got an extra 325 acres I would turn into a private dirt bike course for full dress harleys.

Joan Claybrook actually suggested this when she was head of dot under Carter.

she actually did try to make seat belts mandatory for motorcycles. they were supposed to have a switch under the seat so the engine wouldn't run unless someone was sitting on the seat & the belt was fastened, just like the 1975 cars.

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU VOTE FOR big brother wants to keep you safe.
