How would you keep cool?

It's 2:45 a.m. and it's 79 degrees outside with a feel of 81. We have only one floor fan that is blowing on my sister who is sleeping on the floor, and then we have a small window fan that hardly blows any air out at all. We moved both fans into one room hoping that smaller room would be easier to cool down, but nothing is working. We don't have access to an air conditioning system or cooling system - is there any other way to keep cool so we are able to sleep comfortably?

  1. open the windows early in the morning to get cold air in. afterwards shut all windows, doors, blinds to keep the cold air in and hot sunlight/ air out. keep your fans blowing. dress as lightly as possible when going to sleep. drink a lot of water because our body temperatures naturally fluxuate to keep us cool...water helps to mediate our body temperature! hopefully this helps...good luck

  2. i reckon i would wet a few towels and put them in the freezer all day then in the night i would get one out at a time and place it over the windows fan to cool the air as it comes in

i live in arizona so i know how you feel if you live here it is a state of emergancy if you have no a/c so you should talk to dhs or someone if you live here or just check your state policy on it hope this works

  3. You need to get at least one of those fans out of that room, all they do is move air around giving the illusion of it being cooler, but in actuality they are making it hotter from the motor running. You sister is appreciating it im sure, but your suffering from it :)
