Question:

Howling Noise From Front of Car??

It started when i was doing about 30mph and stopped when i pressed the bakes to stop so i pulled into a parking lot and it stopped so when i was leaving it did it again but i was only doin maybe 5 mph!! So i dont think its my tires but i dunno

Its a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu LS V6

  1. More likely a bad front HUB Bearing.


  2. Probably bad brake pads.

  3. Tires.  Have somebody look at them.  they could be failing.

  4. if it happens when you hit the brakes its probly front brake pads.  if it sounds like a growl the gets louder as you get faster probly a bad wheel bearing

  5. I concur with the brake pad answer. Disc brakes have a wear sensor that alerts you to worn brake pads . When you apply brake the noise will cease. When stopped it will stop as wheel is not turning. When moving you will hear again Have brake pads checked

  6. sounds like the wheel bearings to me as well. I would get them checked cos if it goes too far, a wheel could come off!!
