New Norwich City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert had achieved.
This will be no small task, as Lambert was responsible for leading the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723 to two back-to-back promotions. The club enjoyed a very decent spell in the Premier League last season and were able to avoid relegation.
What remains to be seen is whether they’ll be able to repeat this success under Hughton and avoid what is known as the ‘second season syndrome’.
Hughton arrived at Carrow Road after a successful spell as Newcastle United manager. He had been responsible for leading the team back to the Premier League after just one year of getting relegated. Newcastle won the Coca-Cola Championship and made their
way back to the English top flight. Hughton was however sacked in a surprise move by the Newcastle board and administration.
This news was received with shock, surprise and bewilderment. Hughton is considered as one of the most likeable managers in English football, and his appointment as Norwich boss was received with a approval by fans and neutrals alike.
Norwich are currently busy with their pre-season preparations. The club just played against Championship side Hull City and will face off German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday at Carrow Road.
Hughton is confident and satisfied by the progress the team has made and believes they are on course in their preparations for the new campaign.
The manager knows the game against Monchengladbach will be the most serious test of his career as Norwich boss before the competitive season kicks off next week, but he is happy with the current progress of the team.
“We lost the first game in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844 but since we have come back you want a good run. The results are not the most important thing but it is about being ready for that first game of the season feeling we are in good shape,” he said.
“You hope some of the momentum of pre-season will be a benefit for us. How well-prepared we are is something you probably won’t know until the Fulham game actually comes around. All you can do is work towards your programme and feel you have got it right.”
“We think we are on course but we will certainly be able to tell come August 18.”
