I am thinking about creating a bussiness that makes packs for field craft, hunting, and other general purposes. One of the things it will contain is a basic/trauma first aid kit.

What do you think about this for a small trauma kit?

(2) Trauma Pads

(1) 4in. X 4yd. Gauze Roll

(1) Bandaging Scissors

(1) Instant Cold Pack

(1) 4in. Ace Bandage

( 2 pairs) Medium sized Nitrile Exam Gloves

(4) Providone Iodine Wipes

(4) Sting Relief Wipes

(2) Wet Ones Singles

What are your suggestions for this? Should I also inculude 1 QuikClot? Also, should I replace the instant cold pack with a Water Jel?

  1. Add some burn releif. Ive made fires bunches of times and worn shorts, when i put a peice of new wood on it, and one of the coals pop out.,,

    OUCH...i hate that...

Also add some jerky to every kit.

  2. while I cannot comment on your choice of a business model, I will suggest that you consider adding 'super glue' as an added wound closure armament-remember, most health professionals are going to have a lot more instrumentation, and non-professionals may not know how to use what you are including-the most important component of wilderness medicine is training, not armamentarium....make sure you include a rudimentary explanation of how to use anything you include...good luck, and yes, there are several companies doing what you are suggesting.

  3. Good list so far, keep the cold pack, add more wet ones.  Outdoor injuries usually involve mud/dirt, etc in/around the wound.

    Add: Aspirin for heart attacks.

Glow sticks. (can't do much in the dark)

    Matches/lighter.
