Former Liverpool defender, Sami Hyypia went on to praise Brendan Rodgers for introducing a new playing style at Anfield, following the Reds win against Leverkusen on Sunday.
The 38-year old, who is now the manager of the German outfit, saw his team get hammered 3-1 at Anfield, in a match in which the home team dominated the proceedings from the start till the end.

Ever since he took over the reins of the Merseyside club in June, the Northern Irishman unravelled his intention of introducing the ‘tiki-taka’ playing philosophy at Anfield – a short passing and possession retaining style of play.

The ex Finish International also let out his hope that the entire Liverpool team will be able to rally behind their new manager, as they look to reclaim their place in Champions League football.
Keeping in view his strong history with the club, which saw him cap 318 league appearances over a period of ten years, Hyypia received a warm reception from a boisterous Liverpool crowd, who welcomed his return to Anfield.
Despite witnessing his side go down in the game, the Leverkusen boss admitted that it was an emotional night for him, and thanked the fans for showering their respect and love towards him.
“I've always had a good relationship with the fans and they were great today, as always, so I'm grateful that I had the chance to come back here.”
