i have no idea what to get rid of and how to organize the stuff i already have. can anyone help!?

  1. Fact of the matter is, you're going to get overwhelmed if you do it all at once. My advice is to do whaat FlyLady calls a 27 fling boogie. Everyday go through your things and put 27 items that are to be thrown away in a bag, tie the bag up, and get rid of it (removed temptation). Second, put 27 things you can give away in a bag or box and get rid of it. Do this everyday and before you know it, the clutter is gone, you don't get overwhelmed, and you help a lot of people in the community. Good luck and best wishes.

  2. I've moved like a million times!  I used to be a packrat until i had to pack and unpack all my useless (excuse my french) c**p!  If i find a box of stuff I haven't used or looked at (with the exception of special handmade stuff) in more than a year, I throw it out!  Start a scrapbook, if there are things pictures, letters, or other things i cant find a good reason to keep, i let it go.  There are some things I am sentimentally attatched to.  I just try to find a way to display these things.  Books...If they are school books you might try to sell them on ebay, sometimes students will try to save money on schoolbooks even if they are outdated, I was one of those students, notebooks with notes from class (ive had lots and lots almost 10 years worth) I have found to be most UNuseful!  If there was a class that had exceptional notes and explanations, you could buy a binder that will contain those.  Most important thing to remember is , if it is not sentimental or useful, you can let it go, besides if your not using it now, what are the chances you'll miss it in a couple of years (maybe even a couple of months...days even?)

  3. check out http://www.flylady.com/ she is a miracle worker good luck

  4. ask for some boxes from a local store or gas station.

start in one room (we'll say bedroom). go through every inch of it. if you haven't touched it or used it within the last year, put it in the box to be donated (if you think it can be donated, otherwise suck it up and throw it away).

after you've gotten rid of things that you don't use, invest in some shelving or plastic storage drawers.

  5. Pick one project and stick with it until you finish, then start on another one.

Slowly but surely it will come together.

  6. first of all get rid of the things you dont need or dont use anymore; after you do that put books on a shelf, and put all  other random items where you think they belong

    hope this helps

    sincerely ex-packrat lol
