I have option 2 with bt. Running a pc thro ethernet cable and my HP laptop via wireless. Fine for a week (although laptop running slow). Then, for no apparent reason I lost my wireless connection. Done all the usual checks, even uninstalled bt software and reinstalled. Still not contacting new (black) hub. Getting quite angry now !!!

  1. Same thing happens with me, I find the old trick of turn it off and turn it back on again works, but im sure you have already tried this, I would complain to BT and as them to srot it

  2. i have this problem too, i just use ethernet cable, im switching from BT their service is rubbish

  3. have you also removed the wifi network completely from the laptop and reconnected from scratch? start menu ? control panel > network connections > change advanced settings > wifi networks tab > view your preferred networks and remove the one your trying to connect to > now try connecting again, if this still does not work can you check from another wifi device ? to ascertain if the laptop or router

  4. It takes about 10 days before you are fully up and running with bt.

  5. BT do say in the literature that for the first 10 days they will be running checks on your line, but sometimes simple things like the weather and other wireless gizmos (phones/wii etc) can interfere with the wireless connection. Also check the location of the hub, I have put mine quite high and central as it seems to work better than when it was in the alcove of my room.

  6. Do a hard reset on your WiFi routers by pressing the reset switch and holding it for 30 seconds. If it doesn't have a reset button, unplugging it for 1 minute will also reset the router.

  7. if all you tried fails then phone B.T. 151 who should be able to sort your problem
