I CANNOT do a Toe Touch..?

I can't do a Toe Touch for nothing..I'm Completely HORRIBLE at it! And I really wanna make my Cheer team! Soo..if you have any tips to help me improve..PLEASE Post them! Thank you!

  1. to do a perfect toe touch you have to be able to do a middle split. just keep stretching and you will get them soon. sit in a middle split for about 3 mins then relax then do it again. once you have that, practice it off of something or on a trampoline to improve your height and just pretend you are in a middle split but in the air. good luck!


  2. Here are two exercises I do and my toe touches are over extended. So it must be doing something, right?

    First sit in straddle. Dont make it too wide, just a reasonable straddle is fine.

    Place both hands on either side of one leg and then lift the leg which your arms are next to up and down about 20 or so times.

    Repeat this on the other side.

    Do it as many times as possible, 2 - 3 times a day!

    This will help you roll your hips up to jump, working muscles that you would normally be unable to strengthen.

    Another exercise is to find a flat surface higher then what you are standing on. Something about knee height or higher if you want to improve your jumps further. Then jump up onto it, then back down.

    This will increase the height of your jumps and strengthen some of the main muscles in you legs.

    Get someone to put weight onto while you sit in straddle, it will help you go further down. Make sure your knees dont point forward, they should be facing the roof at all times. Rotate your hips under.

    To jump good you need strong legs even more than flexibility, so squats and running help. Also, calf raises are very important.

  3. 1. Make sure you stretchhhh. really well.

    For example.. sit with one leg extended.. and reach..

    then do the same with the other leg..

    sit in a split as wide as you can and reach for your toes..

    2. its all about the approach.. different cheer teams do it differently so either learn the right one for this team or get the one that is mose cofortable. for you.

    3. hight comes with practice .. just ry and work on those calfs and thight.. do lunges and squats it helps build muscle..

  4. bend your legs to where your in a half sqawt.

    then jump kick your legs way high

    dont oint your town to the floor

    point your feet straight ahead.

    if you cant do the splits your screwed fyi.

    hamstrings have to be fully streatched in order to do this.
