  1. You have to tell her - if your IEP states that you get a word bank, then you get one.  The IEP is a legal document - your teacher must follow the law.  Talk to your case manager or special education teacher at your school for help.

Do you believe that you failed because you didn't have a word bank or was it some other reason?  Be sure that you ask for a retake.

  2. Tell your teacher you didn't get a word bank.

  3. Tell your parents and have them make an appointment with the IEP team to review. Your parents need to be your advocate.s

It is against the law to ignore IEP accomodations, but unfortunately it happens.

That is the whole point of an INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATIONAL PLAN.

To give you individual accomadations.  The word banks were part of that plan.

  4. Since you have an IEP, you should go to your teacher privately and remind her that you were supposed to have one.  Then ask if you can retest with the word bank.

Your teacher should not get mad.  She made a simple mistake and she should be willing to correct it.  If she refuses to make your accomodations, you should then get the principal involved, but only after you have tried talking to the teacher yourself or with a parent if you need moral support to talk to the teacher.
