Question:

I always forget to breathe?

Whenever I read or do something like homework or puzzles, I forget to breathe!

I just hold my breath and let out small almost unnoticeable grunts.

I've always done this, ever since I was really little.

I forgot about it until my mom mentioned it today.

Is this something to worry about?

  1. wow, just as long as it doesnt happen when you sleeping. if i were you i would be worried about this, can u get treatment or sumthn for this. maybe see a doctor if it gets too outta hand.

  2. No, because you are breathing.  If you werent you would either pass out or die.

  3. Sounds like a mild form of anxiety. I do the same thing and that's what mine is.  If anything stresses me out, even a little, I get it.  There isn't much you can do for it, I wouldn't worry too much about it.  Just try to relax when you notice it is starting to happen.

  4. well if you stop now then forget it but if it still happen talk to a doctor

  5. Breathing is an involuntary function. To not breathe, you have to think about not breathing. Otherwise, we'd die as soon as we slept. You're strange breathing pattern is either a psychological disorder or a strange habit you picked up as a child to pass the time. Probably the latter.

Wouldn't worry about it, though, unless you wake up in the hospital.

  6. If u stop breathing your dead....

This maybe Ansiety.. or howevah its spelled..

  7. ive done that before. maybe a docs visit is in order to be sure

  8. hi!

same thing with me. whenever I think about my breathing I breath in like a wierd pattern.

    don't worry about it

  9. thats pretty weird not gunna lie.. have you seen a doctor or a phyciatraist? because you need one and i mean now. can i f**t?

  10. I wouldn't know myself. Cuz if I forget to breathe, most likely I'm dead.

  11. No.  We all have minor differences in the way we do things.  I tend to sigh, particularly if I am mentally involved in something...smile.  No worries.

  12. Lol Are you serious? Wow, I just tried doing what you described and it's HARD! By 'grunt', do you mean you're inhaling with a grunt sound? Anyway, I don't think it's anything to worry about, because your body forces you to inhale naturally if you don't. This actually almost drowned me once; I was being dunked underwater and tried to resurface desperately for air, and my lungs forced an inhalation, but of water! Luckily, I made it to the top while still conscious, but I had to cough up the small bit of water that I inhaled. But back to your situation, again, no matter where you are, your body will inhale, even if that would cause you to die. :D

  13. I WOULD LOVETO learn this technique

  14. Idk.

    I've heard of that.
