  1. Basically you got six years to serve active whether it's active duty or going to drills one weekend a month, then you got 2 years to serve in IRR...basically you are a civilian and you don't get paid or go to drill or anything...but if they ever needed more soldiers while you're on your IRR status..they'll call you up for however long they need you.

  2. in IRR you are basically out of the service.  You do not go with the regular reservists and train, you dont do anything really.  It only means that if the army REALLY needs people, you are on a list of people for them to call back up.  You do not get paid, and you only deploy if you are re activated

  3. IRR (Inactive Ready Reserves) you go one time a year and do some paperwork, you don’t have to have your uniforms and you don’t have to shave or do anything really.    You still cant smoke pot because they can drug test you, the only real thing is that you have an 8 year commitment to the military and you can be called back if they need your MOS and no one is joining then they will call you back but other then that they will leave you alone and you go on with you life.

  4. It is Individual Ready Reserve - You're basically a name on a list. Eligible for recall if necessary but your only real responsibilities are to maintain good fitness standards, stay out of legal trouble, and update the military if your name/address changes.
