I bought a MyGuide sat

Question

I bought a MyGuide sat nav 3100 but on arrival the screen was u/s. The buyer was excellent and sent out a replacement unit straight away but this was the unit only. I put in the original u/s units SD card but got a message saying the maps were locked so I used the original units CD and copied the files for the flash memory to another SD card thinking if I did this it would unlock the maps. After updating the new sat nav unit if I try to go to the navigate page I get an error message saying "HardwareIDerror" Can anyone tell me how I clear this error?, is there another flash memory set up i can update the unit with? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
