Question:

I cancelled my ticket...?

well actually my travel agent did.. and he has ordered for a refund... he said that there will be a fine of $300-350.. is there anyway I can avoid this fine and use my ticket towards another flight although it has been cancelled.. I seriously think that he cheated me just for his own profit

  1. While this is fairly high for a change fee, it's not uncommon to have fairly high change fees for non-refundable tickets, especially if your ticket was an international ticket.

    For the vast majority of airlines out there there is a charge to change/cancel a ticket on most of the cheaper fares, so this is certainly not uncommon at all.

  2. A cancellation fee, not fine, is quite common depending on the type of ticket.  Some are not refundable at all, so you're lucky.  

    You can't use this ticket again, but if you need to fly and are counting on the refund to do it, you will have to wait for the money to come through.  Why don't you ask your travel agent.
