Ok its not really a situation, but heres my story! My best friend was in South Africa for 10 weeks. for the last 2 weeks ive been redoing his bathroom and his room! wallpaper pulling, painting moving a lot of furniture... probably a total of 20 hours of work! last night i stayed up til 2 finishing his bathroom! He came home today and loved it! It was all volunteer work...and his dad and i are tight (im 13). so i really dont expect anything! But my friends dad says hes gonna pay me $50. I dont think i deserve it... and I'm soo confused.. i know it sounds crazy but i feel guilty about the thing. Majority rules i take the money if there are more yes's and dont take it if there are more No's. My decision is with you guys!!! Thanks I give out best answer!!!

  1. Please take the money, the father will be greatly insulted if you don't.  Trust me from past experience.  You did a great deed, and he wants to thank you for it!  :)

  2. Take the money. And yes, its ok to get paid doing something you love! You do deserve the money, especially since your intentions were not to get paid. Keep the same giving spirit as you grow, you'd be surprised at how good things will keep happening to you in return. Don't blow the money though, either save it or buy something that would will last and remind you of your volunteer work.

  3. Take the money if he offered it.  If he hadn't offered it, then that would be OK too.

  4. Sounds like you did hard work that they really appreciated.  You earned the money fair and square if they want to give it to you.  Take it and enjoy.  Make sure to say "Thank You"

  5. Take the money.  It sounds like you did way more than $50 of work anyway.
