  1. As soon as my daughter finishes a bottle, I fill it with water to it can soak until I am ready to wash it. This keeps it smelling fresh.

  2. Get some Milton and cold sterilise them, they can sit in the solution (liquid or tablets) for up to 24 hours and remain sterile.

  3. do you boil them or put them in the dishwasher?

  4. its tough to get the formula smell out of bottles. try letting them soak in HOT and soapy water for a half an hour then scrub. get a bottle brush if u dont have one already.

  5. You could try boiling them and that may or may not help. Another thing you could try is leaving a vinegar/water mix sit in them for a period of time, then of course wash and rinse well after.

Try to at least rinse a bottle out as soon as you are done with it, to keep the formula from sitting for any length of time.

  6. i asked my mom and other older generation moms and they all said that you rinse the bottle as soon as possible in COLD water to get rid of the milk, as hot binds it to the bottle and teat. then you wash it in as hot as you can manage to get your hands in. then rinse all the detergent off well.

I always put the bottle to soak in cold water asap, then wash it when i get the chance. no stinky bottles in our house!

  7. We used advent bottes cause they do not hold the smell. but we found out that they have chemicals leaching into the milk.

The other alternative is to use the platic bags.

Polyethylene bottles are the safest bottles to use.  And fortuneately they are also cheap.

The trick to keeping them not stinking is to empty them as soon as you are done.  If you let milk go too long, it will turn to cheese.

  8. i boil the nipples once a week, every sunday. it smells fine after that.
