I enjoy advertising...?

I love to analyze commercials... criticize them, and see HOW they accomplish what they do. From color to details, "movie magic", smoke and mirrors....

What would be a good career exercising these strengths? What should I study in school? (high school and college)

...I also LOVE creative, descriptive writing.

Sounds like a career in advertising and marketing, take courses in this area and keep looking for your niche as you progress, studying in general within this field will lead you towards exactly what you love doing.
