I study SO hard and spend hours trying to grasp things most people take only minutes to get.

I've only ever got a A once in my life and in my best subject I only get C's-B's.

Intelligence seems to come so easily to the people around me,but I have stuggled so hard.

And I can't pass any exams I need such as GCSE'S and A-level because I need to get at least a C in Maths but the problem is I can hardly get a D in it because I'm so terrible(I just can't grasp it or remember any of it at all no matter how hard I try)

What should I do?

I'm going to end up working in Macdonalds or something :(

  1. ..........Take it easy.......Relax............

To be in & around average,U don't need 2 work so hard in d 1st. place.

U're a hard worker...dat's a good asset to start with...Infact U've got the main ingredient of sucess...."Hard work"

    To start with..:-

1.donot attempt 2 cover all lessons.

2.concentrate on those U can & digest it well...

3.make sure the lessons U've learnt have become U'r commonsense.

4.next, attempt ....other lessons one at a time in order of +ve degree

of your affinity towards the topic....do not hurry in this....(take it as a challenge)....apply all possible methods/help/openions/discussions &prepare U'r self this topic as though U'r gonna give a lecture on it..

5 ...the same method can be tried with maths....However U've got to first get your mathematical foundation/basics firmly rooted.

Never try to skip basics / formulas etc ...U can't go far in maths...doing this.

However U& can leave out those that are really alien to U ....'cause they would consume a lot of time & worry & u won't be able to do justice either.

    ('Please' !  this is just a suggestion...hoping it'll benifit U).

  2. Nobody is stupid you may just have some depression don't listen to people calling you stupid they are wrong I never study

a C is an Average level according to Kevin Rudds Grades.

Albert Einstein growing up only got c's and b's so don't worry you are smart!

You should just focus on Maths don't do any other study other then maths you won't end up in Macdonalds!

  3. You are not stupid.  Talk with your school counselor and ask for extra help.  Also talk to your math teacher and ask her/him for some extra help.  If you don't talk to them they won't realize that you feel this way and will just assume you are content with the grades you are getting.

  4. I'm going to end up working in Macdonalds or something :(

noooo! seriously I'm not doing A Levels but I'm doing a college course in september (which is like next week) and I got c**p results! the highest I got was c's! don't worry about it people sometimes get in even if they don't make the grades.

  5. just keep on working at it.For maths i particular just do logical exercises and really easy timetables and stuff, for 20 mins everyday. You'll soon get quicker and more logical. And keep practising the things your worst at.Dont worry, I'm sure theres stuff your amazing at.Its just finding it thats the hard bit!

  6. YOU ARE NOT STUPID.  I ONLY DID 10 YEARS OF SCHOOLING AND I AM COPING IN LIFE, YOU HAVE MORE THEN THAT AND WHATS WRONG OWNING OR BEING A MANAGER FOR MC DONALDS?

be an optimist not a pessimist in makes a difference in life

  7. Well, every people have different levels of memory power.I think u need to concentrate a little more on your study. You can also consult a doctor for enhancing your memory power and can also adopt some exercises for your brain.Thanks.

  8. I think you need to relax a little and settle down for a bit. Think about what your learning needs are. How do you prefer to learn? What are your basic skills? What are your strengths? Weaknesses? What do YOU want to do in life? It may be a learning disorder you have, or maybe your basic habits such as sleeping late, not eating right, or some other personal problem.

You might want to go to a doctor and see if they can diagnose you with a learning disability, or see your school's guidance (I don't know if they have that in the UK) to get it straightened out

    Best of luck :)

  9. i know you've probably heard this lots of times but what you need is motivation and self determination. First of all, you have to understand that what you are doing is going to play an important part as a determinant in your future. When you are able to fully grasp this, then you can begin to understand the need for you to be a ble to learn, and to remember. Now here are a few tips i think may be able to help you out:

    1. Get rested before you start to learn. A tired brain finds it very difficult to accept more knowledge and comprehend it so you have to schedule your times such that before you study, you have a lot of rest.

    2. Sometimes you have to set people as your personal motivation. Look at the boy who's always learning but also is able to have fun. Look at that girl who is always getting A's without even trying. Can't you be like them. WHen the going is tough, let your mind revert to them as well as to your future dreams and let this motivate you.

    3. Now you also said that you take hours to understand. Let me tell you a truth. Some people seem to take a few seconds to understand something being taught by the professor but the truth is that, everybody has his way of teaching and as such it may not be suited wth everyone, mush less you. In order to correct this however, find one of those people who take a short time to master a topic and let them explain to you. Be willing, be ready, be open and don't be shy. they will be able to break things down and communicate to you in your own peer language.

    4. Do not study one subject for hours on end. After 30 minutes of studying one subject, your mind begins to get tired of that particular subject. so it is best to change subjects every 45 minutes or so/ In this case, you have to draw up a timetable that will cater for this making sure that you adhere strictly to it. and to quicken your mind, make sure you start witha bit of problem solving in arithmetic or physics before you change to the readind typr. Always be willing to learn from others and e quick to ask others for assistance and take away the mentality that you are terrible at something. It does nothing more than to make sure you really become terrible at it. you kight say, why don't you face reality, but in this case facing the realtiy may do more harm than good.  And lastly, be prayerful and ask God to give you strenght and grace and most importantly retentive memory to remember. Going over what you have learnt regularly helps you to become better at it. Good luck and i hope this helps

  10. It's great that you still keep on trying and don't fall into the easy trap of giving up and wasting your education.  You need to speak to your teachers.  They will see your determination and be more than happy to help that rare student who actually wants to do well!  Explain to them how you find yourself struggling and ask if any would be willing to spend a little time with you after class to go over anything you're having trouble with, maybe set you some exercises to do at home etc.  Everyone has different learning styles and maybe you just need a more one-on-one approach.

In the end, don't beat yourself up if you're not the most academic person.  There's so much else to do once you reach employment age.  If you have any particular talents - music, art, drama etc, try exploring them more.  Get the support of your school though, and they'll guide you down the route that best works for you.
