  1. i think its rare dont spend it

  2. When people find a silver colored 1943 penny, they are often surprised, thinking they have found a great rarity, since all U.S. pennies are copper. Aren't they?

Answer: The 1943 silver colored penny is a wartime issue made of steel, and coated with zinc. During World War II, copper was so badly needed for the war effort (to make shell casings) that the U.S. penny was made out of steel that year, which is why most 1943 pennies are silver colored. They are worth about 12 to 15 cents each in ciruclated condition, and as much as 50 cents or more if Uncirculated.

*maybe post a picture if you can - that may clarify a few things.

  3. Due to World War II there was a need for copper in the war effort. The powers to be decided on a zinc coated steel cent for that year. They also found out it was a bad idea and also that we had plenty of copper. It was only done in 1943. The cent turned white due to oxidation sometimes. It had a normal appearance of being a silvery color. The coin is not scarce for the mintage's were 684,628,670 for the Philadelphia mint, 217,660,000 for the Denver mint and 191,550,000 for the San Francisco mint. Since they were a different color and a one year type most were saved and even in mint state sell for only a few dollars. Most coin dealers have then in their wheat cent box for .10 to .25 cents each. As for a web site on coins of the world there are none free. The sites have to be huge and costly. In numismatics we still use those old fashion things called books. It has taken till this year to get coin catalogs even on DVD's. I think another problem maybe the prices and books are copyrighted. I usually help here on world coins if the lists are not long.

  4. it is most likely a steel penny.  During the wars, pennies were made of steel to save copper for use in the war effort.

  5. Do a search for Littleton coin Co. As the other person said it's probably a WW2 penny worth a little if in fair shape.

  6. uh maybe 10 cents? if its about the size of a penny and made out of metal then they woulden't have made much money off of it and if it was from another country then it might be worth -2.40 we have more valuable money in America
