  1. Three options:

    1) Find out if you have an hiatus hernia. If you are over 40, your Dr may send you to have it put back in place.

    2) Get your Dr to prescribe Lansoprazole. This is what I take and they work very well for me.

    3) Obviously, cut down on fizzy, rich or spicy foods, coffee in moderation and drink lots of water.

  2. try zantac

  3. sounds like you have too much acid in your stomach

i get heartburn occasionally aswell, but usually only after eating really salty stuff like bacon flavoured crisps (..mmm).

Try eating less salty and acidic foods.

(sometimes too much black pepper can cause problems with heartburn aswell)

Also, supermarkets like tesco and asda sell heartburn tablets that are a bit chalk like in texture but work wonders with heartburn by neutralizing the extra acid coming up the food pipe.

If its still really bad, i recommend you seek advice from a doctor

    hope this helps :)

  4. try ginger very good for you.the health shop sells ginger toffees i always have a few in my pocket.

  5. it could be that you have Helicobacter Pylori it a bacterial condition and causes ulcers, but a huge symptom is heart burn , it requires a blood test to confirm and the cure is a tri pak of medication 2 antibiotics and a tummy calmer, go see your doctors for test, I had it and got HB drinkinng water.

  6. sounds more like acid reflux........ zantac is good for this but you may need a stronger dose from your gp.

i would get it checked out. i suffered with it for years, it could also be due to some foods you are eating?!

  7. i had this problem to much acid production in the stomach if over the counter medicines don't work see your doc they have some great prescription medicines for this though you should see there are no other underlying problems  doc knows best

  8. I suffered heartburn for years on and off. Eventually it  got so that I had it every day and couldn't eat hardly anything - normal remedies didn't help and I found the only thing that helped me was to put a couple of Alika seltzers in a bottle of water and keep having a drink. I realised that I couldn't carry on with that so went to docs and found out I had an ulcer - which cleared up with treatment (should have gone years ago). So my advice is to go to your doctors for a long term solution.
