I had a dream, which I can't remember the whole thing, but the gist of it was that inflation in the U.S. economy wasn't the problem, whats the problem is hyperinflation. Basically, the U.S. is in or going into hyperinflation.

Anyone know if this is true?

  1. Depends upon who is elected and what happens to taxes.

  2. Um. no not really.

Fed chairmen Ben Bernanke keeps inflation below 2%.

Hyper inflation is something like 200%, like in Weimar Republic in Germany between the wars.

Then, money was carried in wheelbarrows and measured with rulers. You're money would devaluate between the time you sat down for, and finished a meal.

  3. Yes its possible and even likely. M3 is running at 17% and price inflation is at 12% and rising. The total currency supply is $19 trillion and the total debt load is $500 trillion chasing the $19 trillion in total currency supply. You figure out what has to happen to service that debt. PRINT MORE MONEY. Yes its called hyperinflation!!!

  4. Foreigners are holding trillions of US dollars.  And if they decide to spend just a fraction of that money in USA.  Then indeed USA will have hyperinflation.

But most of that money is held by foreign governments.  And perhaps they won't behave the way private investors are likely to behave.
