I have a HDD that crashed that was in my custom rig. I am swapping in a
HDD out of a Gateway PC. They both have Windows XP Home edition on them
with SP3 updates. The problem is that the Windows XP version on the
Gateway HDD does not have any of the drivers to recognize the Asus K8V
motherboard. I can only boot up windows in safe mode and since it cant
find the drivers for the ethernet controller on the K8V it cant access
the internet. Since it cant access the internet it cant find ANY of the
drivers it needs to work properly with my K8V. I have relocated into
the Gateway and I am looking for a zip driver file for the Asus K8V so
I can download it. I plan to then swap it back into the Asus K8V mobo
computer and load the drivers in safe mode and then restart. The new
drivers should then recognize the K8V mobo and allow me to update the
drivers online. I need to know where I can find 32 bit drivers for
Windows XP HE for an Asus K8V? I need to know if this proceedure is the
right thing to do? I need any suggestions at all for continuing this
fix? Thanks.
