I have a Hoover, Steam spin scrub, Model F5897-900.Only used it a couple times and the motor gave out.First started being noisy then a bad smell. It did seemnoisier that what I would expect from the start but Ididn't realize it was a problem with the shaft of the motor. I took it apart and found the motor shaft wasn'ttrue and causing sparks. The motor looks like it cannot be taken apart and repaired. This seems like a default from the beginning but it is past warranty. Also noticedthat the hose for upholstry cleaning was installed improperly causing it to tear. If it hadbeen placed in the right spot it would have given a proper length of hose to expand when opening the handle release. The machine otherwise worked well and I was happy with the cleaning job it performed. I was able to take the fan part of the motor off butdid not see any way for further disassembly. It appears I will need a new motor including the mount as it appears as one unit. What to do???
