I have a Motorola V3

I have a Motorola V3 cell phone and all I want to do is get my photos downloaded to my computer.... I have a usb cable and the phone makes an acknowledgement sound when I plug in the usb to my harddrive. But no software or recognition on my computer's side.... how do i do it? Thanks Deb
