Question:

I have a Period Question?

I'm a 26 yr old female and I had my period twice in August. Is this normal? My first period in August was on August 3rd then the second one was on August 30th. I didn't have a period in July.

I've been taking Prevacid for my acid reflux so could the medication have anything to do with this?

Should I be concerned about having 2 periods last month? Should I see a doctor?

  1. The normal cycle is 28 days. Yours was 27 days, that is very normal.. You do not have to consult a doctor/gyno...

No it has nothing to do with the Prevacid..I have acid reflux and take it, and still have a normal period...

  2. Do your cycles tend to be about one month in length each time? If so, then this 'double period' should be quite normal considering it was 27 days long. Periods can fluctuate from cycle to cycle, being 27 days one cycle or 30 days the next cycle. That is normal. Seeing as you're on meds for acid reflux, stress can make the reflux worse at times, and stress can also affect your cycles making them start at times other then when you're expecting. Some women have no rhyme or reason to their cycles and never know when to expect them.

There is an option to help correct the length of your cycles and help regulate them if they aren't usually regular. Maya abdominal massage can help to do this. It can also help correct your acid reflux problem too.
