Ok, i had my third XC practice(cross country practice) and i have some questions to ask. I had always run at around 7 at night, and the practices are at 3 in the afternoon. I live in humid florida, could this be having an impact on my running? Because i used to be able to run 3 miles...with a small break in between, but now i can barely run 1.8 miles. We don't get to have walk breaks, so could that be why??? Thanks in advance for the help.

  1. Yes definetly has an effect. I ran all summer in NY  before I went to college in Ga. and the heat knocked me on my azz. I got dizzy and slow. It took some time to get used to it

  2. It takes about 2-3 weeks to get used to the humidity. You should always train the same conditions as the race, so there are no suprises.

  3. The fact that you're used to walking and the more intense heat and humidity are probably combining to make you run less.  Don't worry about it too much, though, since it's only your third day.  You WILL get better with hard work and patience.  Trust me, I live in Florida and it took me a whole summer to get used to the heat.
