I have a computer virus...?

Is there any way that I can find out where I got it so that I won't get it again, once I get rid of it? I think it might be from limewire but I am not entirely sure

There is no way to be sure as to where the virus came from but I would say Limewire is probably favourite.  If you insist on using Limewire be sure to download all files to one specific folder first and scan every one of them with your antivirus before opening them.  Also, avoid downloading .zip and .exe files as these are where most of the viruses are contained.

You should only browse the internet using a limited account not an administrative account, if a virus infects your computer and you are using an admin account it can make critical system changes, but a limited account does not have the power to make critical changes so the amount of damage a virus can do is limited.

Yes limewire is well known for viruses it is like leaving a open door way into your computer for anyone to do or  take what ever they want.
