Question:

I have a dating problem?

I like guys, naturally, but I find that whenever the guy I like happens to show signs that he likes me back I get turned off and don't like him! I'm used to often getting turned down by the guys I like, and I have had times where I've gotten close to a guy I liked (kissed and stuff) but then after that I'll just think it's all gross and go off and hurt the guys feelings! I AM a problem, and I'm never going to have a serious relationship if this carries on. I think I have high expectations or I'm just immature or something but it's horrible! I don't want to be single forever but I don't want to keep feeling disgusted just because a guy I like likes me back (If I didn't like the guy, it'd be fine because I'd be honest and say I didn't like him and that's that) do I have cold feet? Scared of intimacy? It's not like I've had harrassment as a child, and I do imagine it'd be nice (say hugging or kissing a guy) but I'm stuck in a dream because when it comes to reality, I run away! Help!

  1. I don't think you have a problem with intimacy or that you have cold feet. I think that you're at a point in your life where you simply are not ready for a serious relationship. It could be any number of things, School, Job, family situations, maturity, or any number of things. I mainly think that you simply have not found the right guy yet. I have no doubt that when you do everything else will fall into place. When you find the right person things should feel right. Good Luck

  2. It sounds like you are not ready for a serious relationship. Or, you just want what you cant have. And when I say that, I mean you enjoy the thrill of the chase, but after you get with him, you realize that you didn't really like him enough to hang on to him or you get bored. Eventually you'll find that one guy who doesn't disgust you when he likes you back, just don't rush it, there is no need to. Just live and have fun, he'll come around and when he does, you'll finally be ready for the serious relationship you think you want now.
