For concealed carry:

I'm trying to decide between the Sig P239 and the Glock 26. The Glock is a little cheaper, but I've heard great things about the sigs. Which would you pick, and why? Thanks.

  1. The one point that noone has made yet.

Subcompact guns are often difficult to control due to their small size, therefore accuracy is severly impacted.

Have you shot either of these guns?

I have big hands, which makes the G26 even harder to shoot.  That is one of the most uncomfortable guns I have ever shot.  Accuracy was BLAH.

I have never had the opportunity to handle the Sig.

I have, however, shot the XD 40 subcompact, and was amazed by the  fit, feel, and performance of this little black gun.  My first shot at 15 yards(first shot ever with the gun) was dead center bullseye.  My buddy that owns the gun says" $hit, I have had that sucker for a year now and never made a shot like that!".

Remember, that just because you have handled these guns and they feel right, doesnt amount to squat when you are trying to control them under fire.

  2. Find the gun that feels the most comfortable for you and feels good with your arms outstretched...aiming.

Sig or Glock, or any other of many guns will do well, the gun needs to compliment you and your style, i.e. holding the gun, raising the gun and even cosmetics.  Weight is also an issue with a lot of people, so don't be afraid to try a few out to get the best fit.

I work a large sporting goods store in Mich and am the ammo man.

We sell many handguns every week.

    Good luck

  3. I've carried several police issue Sigs over the past 20 years so I can definitely say "BUY A GLOCK"!

Both of my Sigs have had problems. The customer service sucks!

  4. I personally like the ergonomics, balance and general feel of the Sig more.  They shoot well and are just as reliable and accurate.

  5. It depends on your experience and comfort level with the firearm.  The Glock is not a gun for beginners, or for casual users.  It is a wonderful firearm, but because of its design it is best used by experienced handgunners.  The Sig is a sweet shooter.  The Sigs I've shot had exceptional triggers, and balance very nicely.

You won't be buying a bad firearm either way you go, but I lean toward the Sig.

  6. I got both.

I like the p239. The glock is too short a handle for my hands; I am 6 foot 3, 280lbs.

I have many rounds through both, and neither have ever failed. Buy the one that fits your hand best.

  7. I would select the Sig.  My reason is solely based on the ease of use with both beginners and advanced shooters.

Also, keep in mind that there are more Sig Gunsmith facilities than Glock should your firearm need any repairs.

  8. Sig all the way. You cant argue with the reliability of a Glock. But if your like me, you want reliability, and you got to like the look and feel of Gun.

Glocks are ugly and dont feel right

  9. Go with the gun that fits you best.

  10. They are both good guns.

I would go with the Glock though because I am a Glock guy.

I don't think you could go terribly wrong with either.

  11. Between the two handguns you listed I would go with the Sig. I do not like the feel of Glock. They are both very reliable pistols. May I also suggest looking at the Springfield Armory XD series. Better feel and fit than the Glock and better price than the Sig.

  12. I prefer the Sig also.
