I have a sprinkler system question...?

I have a line out that leads to a water faucet that comes up out of the ground and a hose is connected to it. I want to extend that line 19 feet further underground (keeping the faucet and hose and adding a second at the end of the 19 feet). Then I want to connect another faucet with hose 23 feet further down the line.

How should I do this? I don't have experience planning and designing a system like this.

  1. Perhaps hire a professional. Wouldn't want you flooding your house and drowning or anything, right?

Please answer mine, it's really important! (to me at least) --> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

  2. Shut of water to that line and cut line and install a "T" fitting and a riser for the first hose connection.  Next, continue the line for 23 more feet (pvc comes in 20 foot pieces, but you can add 3 more feet then use a 90 degree elbow and another riser for the second hose bib.  Hardest part of job will be digging the trench for the 23 feet of extra line.

  3. Expose the soil around the pipe and where it elbows up to the hose spigot. To minimize the amount of time the water will be off, go ahead and dig the 19-20 feet trench (to the next spigot).

    Shut off the water.

Cut off the pipe (1" or 3/4") about 2" BEFORE the elbow to your current spigot- you can use this at your NEW location by simply adding on a COUPLER to the end of your new 20' section of pipe.

Where you cut the pipe, add a TEE, pipe and new spigot.

Wait about 20 minutes before testing for leaks.  Use teflon around your threaded ends.

    Good Luck
