I have made the move?

Hey Guys. I have just made the move from Luton, U.K to Palmerston North, New Zealand.

I love it here! The people are the friendliest I have ever met, and the scenery and food are spectacular! I like the size of the town because I can get around easily.

However, there is one thing I don't like about it here. THE PEOPLE ARE WEIRD! Yes I know that is a mean thing to say, and it doesn't apply to all New Zealanders but in the 5 months I have been living here, I have never met so many weirdos!

The other night, I went out for an early evening night walk. I rushed home because I forgot to lock the back door. When I got home, I could see that the door was wide open! I snuck inside. Everything was in order. I opened the fridge, everything was gone! WHAT THE?

Someone had stolen the contents of my fridge! That's all that was taken! NO JOKE LOL.

2 weeks before that, my boss at work was sick so she couldn't go to work.

One mornig while I was getting ready for work, she phoned my house and asked me if I could pop around hers before I went to work.

When I arrived at her house, she walked outside in her PJ's and gave me a card board cut out of her telling me to leave it in her office so people would feel like they couldn't run amok with out her being there!

Everyday, I see weird things in this town! While Palmerston North is truley a wonderful place to bring up a family, It's a very very strange town!

Perahps it's because the town is over run with smart uni students?

AND i was reading in the paper that some guys soaked bread in beer and feed the beer to the ducks. Ducks were wondering all around town drunK!

Have you ever encountered any strange incidents like this?, because to be honest, England seems a lot more civil although Kiwis are much nicer!

  1. Your question cracked me up, I live in Hokowhitu although grew up in Ashhurst like to think where a different bunch out there. Palmy people are a little odd maybe its something in the air, too much dr*gs or lack of intelligence.

Even with all the Uni's around anyone with half a qualification would be out of here so fast

Guess growing up around these yo'll country folk I haven't noticed the weird side too them all. The country side around Palmerston North is very beautiful and untouched but the only positive thing about this city is the cheap living conditions & it's not a bad place to bring a family up your right : )

Probably a hungry student that borrowed the food out of your fridge, guess they couldnt make it to countdown before midnight

I'm starting to wonder if maybe where the dumbest city in NZ
