I have questions about SKIMBOARDING!!!?

i want to learn how to skimboard so i have a few questions. firts of all what type of board should i buy?? should i get one like at sport chalet or i saw some at a swamp meet. im not trying to go pro or anything just have fun at the beach so i dont care if i get a hard core one. but i do have a $40 budget. take note that i am 5'5 140 pounds and losing weight, and a female

  1. For a beginner, $40 is a good budget. I would recommend getting a board in this price range to begin with; if you decide you really like skimboarding and start to get better at it, it will be worth investing in a better board then. A good quality new board can run $80-$100 +!

    You can get a used one pretty inexpensively. Check e-bay, Craigslist & local shops. Fiberglass boards are much better quality than wood boards, but they are more expensive. Wood boards tend to warp easily and are heavier. E-bay sometimes offers new glass boards for fairly inexpensive; these are fine for a beginner.

    Most beginner boards will be fine for your size. I'm a female on the smaller side and use a 45" board.
