For the last week or so my eyes have been really dry and sore.

I tried some hayfever eye drops yesterday but they made my eyes sting even more.

  1. it might be something bitten your eyes.maybe insects.i guess u better check up with the doctor.

  2. Yeah I agree with Arwen.  I use AMO Blink all the time.  They are like little tears in a bottle and you can use them with or without contact lenses and they don't sting at all.  You can order them online as well.  Asda website is cheapest when I looked about 2 weeks ago.  3 bottles for £5.96.  Opticians (well D&A) will charge like £5 for one bottle.  I think they are amazing and well worth the money!!  It also means you can stay at the computer for longer because they just do what your eyes would do when blinking!!

  3. go visit a doctor and say what u tried

i usely get sore eyes if i rub them or if i get punched

  4. you need presription drops of doc's you might have slight eye infection or something if normal eye drops are hurting you

  5. go to your optician and they will say what you need

  6. Don't do any more self-treatment to your eyes.  Look for an optician.

  7. You might be allergic to something. get them checked out.

  8. You don't say where you live, or if it's in town or in the country.

I have noticed my eyes dry and sore in the last few weeks. I didn't mention it to anyone but it came up in conversation and I realised that a lot of people have been affected the same way. Lots of children in the school where I teach have sore eyes just now. Even my dogs who sleep outdoors have runny eyes.

This makes me think it is not infection or allergy but something environmental. We live in the country where for the last month oil seed rape (yellow peril) has been strongly in flower. The fairly fresh and consistent east to north east wind has been blowing the pollen all over us during that time, so that's a possibility. Either that or the same wind has been carrying pollution across the North Sea from industrial parts of Europe and that is affecting us.

I just bathed my eyes with Optrex. Since the rape flowering is past there is an improvement, so I put it down to that.

  9. Use Blink artificial tears from Boots. They really work, I use them.

I hope they work for you. Good luck.

  10. 1) Get off the computer

    2) Get some Allergy Medicine (Tablets)

    3) Try wearing some big, but not too big, sunglasses over them

    4) Put some tea bags (used and cold, and keep you eyes shut, obviously) on them for about 30 minutes

    5) Try staying indoors a bit more
