I just bought a nintendo ds?

and i dont really know why. what is there to do with it? like it says it has wifi but do i need something else? idk help me

Multi media functions will require a separate purchase, also if you have the wii download the Nintendo channel to get DS demos.

To use the Wi-Fi, you need to have Wireless Internet, with a wireless gateway. For people like me, whose wifi isn't compatible with the ds, or for people without wireless gateways, you have to buy a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. Unfortunately they quit making these, but some are still available on eBay (where I got mine). They run about $25-$40. Also to use it you also have to have Nintendo Wi-Fi Compatible games. (Just look on the box for the little blue dot.) It's sorta nice to have, not having to play the lame robot players anymore. Also Brain Age is a good game if you're the kind of person who likes that kinda stuff. Enjoy your DS!

pokemon, animal crossing. those are some cool games. also - rockstar on tour needs an adapter which is kinda cool.

The Nintendo DS is nothing but a handheld gaming console. It does not play music and it does not play movies. All it does play is games. One of the nice features is Wi-Fi. This allows you to play Wi-Fi Compatible games over the world with other people with the same game if you have each other's Friend Codes.

Some of the best Wi-Fi Compatible games are:

* Pokemon Diamond and Pearl

* Mario Kart DS

* Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

The Nintendo DS can only connect to Wi-Fi via the use of a wireless router with WEP properties OR a Nintendo USB Wi-Fi Connector (only about 40 to 50 bucks now). To install the connector, you need a computer or a laptop with Windows XP running.

You can also use a laptop's wireless internet connection to get connected to Wi-Fi.
