I know my parents smoke pot!!

Question

So i've known my parents smoke pot for a long time now and i just never really knew what to do. I'm kinda afraid to ask them afraid about what they'll say. They don't know that i know but the smell is obvious and when ever i walk into a room they try to hide it behind a box or something. I've actually seen the stuff too. They always argue with each other. I'm also afraid for their health. I'm also afraid that my friends won't understand if i try to talk to them. Plus we struggle with money all the time. I just wish that instead of them buying it they would use it for more sensible stuff like food/bills. Please help and give me some advice!

the best thing would be u open up & talk to them.... stop being scared or it might be too late..... if it obvious that they do smoke pot then whats the point of hiding it from u or u acting like as if u dont know. Keep quite has never helped a problem, talk to them & sort things out, tellthem how u feel & what concerns u the most in their habit. They are ur parents & they will listen to u, dont be pushy, be understanding (we know u are). Best of luck, do it today....

Talk to a guidance counciler, they help more than random people you dont know on the internet..

talk to a school couselor or find a police station. Its better to be safe than sorry, and NO ONE should have to go through that. I wish you thee best of luck, and i hope you are well

yea i noe how u feeel lolz ma dad jus kicked me out now i live with my mom nd my step dad nd they smoke pot but i used 2 smell dat err daii on my block and sum of my firends did it and they think i dunt noe wen its obvious i dunt mind the smell though nd it doesnt hurt there health like cigrettes do nd ma mom alwais b like im broke but they alwais got money 4 pot so i had 2 get ma own job nd ish "/ im 15 lolz buh ma other famz got ma clothes nd me 2 so idc wat dey do

Man, it sucks when the child is more responsible than the parents. At least they did something right!  

The thing is, there is nothing you can say to them that will make it any easier. You could just tell them that you know they're smoking pot and that it's their business, but you really don't want to have to go without food and shelter because of their habit/addiction.

How old are you?  Could you live on your own?

If they refuse to do something about it, stay with a friend and have the house raided.

You don't need to go down just because your parents are irresponsible.

I'm sorry, I wish I could give you some really profound advice that would really help you. But that's all I can come up with.

Nobody is "too old" to smoke pot.

The only thing I see wrong with it is that they need to spend the money on something better than that if you guys are tight on money.

my mom smokes pot & i used to battle her about it for years.

she never tried to hide it, though. it was always out in the open.

eventually, i realized i couldn't beat her & i just joined her.

i don't ask for you to do that, but let up a little.

i realized why my mom smoked it like she did & i realized it's not as bad as what i was lead on to believe.

it's not like it's meth or cocaine or anything.

it's a natural plant that God put here for a reason.

it's possibly the best anti depressant known to mankind.

your parents should think about what's necessary first, but don't be so hard on them if they do smoke it.

Wow...didn't see a big problem until the last sentences.  If it's to the point where you're living poor and they're sitting around getting stoned all the time and you don't have enough food and are ashamed for your friends to find out,  you may need to go to the authorities.  You could tell a teacher or police officer.  Most any adult that you trust.  Getting stoned on a camping trip a couple times a year is one thing but neglecting you kids is another.  Tell somebody!

this question is tricky , because boht of them smoke pod , so try getting them some help , like bring them to AA or something , this is really a tough one

Pot isn't any worse than cigarettes, if anything, better. But if they are squandering their money on it and not for more useful things, that is definitely bad...the only thing you CAN do is to just ask them to have a serious discussion, and tell them your feelings and what you think. I hope this works out for you.
