I lost my passport and greencard?

I came to shanghai on June 28, and I lost my purse (it had my greencard, passport, and airplane tickets) when I was in a taxi. My new passport is currently being put together, would there be any trouble getting a travel letter if I don't have my old passport with all my travel information on it?

  1. If you are outside the U.S. and have lost your alien registration card, contact the nearest American Consulate, USCIS Office or Port of Entry before attempting to file a Form I-90. If your Form I-90 application is approved, you will be mailed a replacement Permanent Resident Card,Form I-551, with a ten-year expiration date from the date of issuance

    when adressing the immigration, they will put a stamp on your NEW passport,(ADIT stamp):

    # Adit Stamp (I-551): A stamp placed in a person's passport by an INS immigration officer to document the entry of the person into the United States.#

    and, no, you do not need your old passport, since you have lost it.......

  3. i dont think you would be permitted to travel with out the passport, u would need the passport for proof of identity due to 9:11 but who knows
