Try the Book '4 Ingredients' I can't remember who it's by, but it's written by two mums. Very good, quick and easy cookbook.

My son has just sent me two cookery books for my birthday - British Food by Mark Hix (earlier, I made boiled duck's egg with asparagus soldiers) and a book by the National Trust called Complete Traditional Recipe Book.  I think this book must have just about every recipe for food I grew up with.  I am going to work my way through it.  Sometimes in the autumn we have soup and then a pudding, no other course, and this book has lots of ideas.

Nigella Lawson's "How to Eat"; it's a lot of fun to read, there's hundreds of recipes and ideas. It's unlike any cookbook I've ever read, but I really love it.
