I need a heavy hor d'ourve recipe for a retirement party. Most of the attendees will be men & this will be served for their lunch. I want something that is heavy and good.

  1. How bout this? I just made it last week, very filling, very yummy.

    BEEF STROGANOFF

    INGREDIENTS

    1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles

    1 pound ground beef

    1 (10.75 ounce) can fat free condensed cream of mushroom soup

    1 tablespoon garlic powder

    1/2 cup sour cream

    salt and pepper to taste

    DIRECTIONS

    Prepare the egg noodles according to package directions and set aside. In a separate large skillet over medium heat, sauté the ground beef over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until browned. Drain the fat and add the soup and garlic powder. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and combine the meat mixture with the egg noodles. Add the sour cream, stirring well, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

    is it a sit down meal or will they be milling about ? as if they will be standing then you need to look at finger foods

    Shredded beef sandwiches

    INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

    3 pounds beef roast

    2 onions, chopped

    2 (12 fluid ounce) cans or bottles beer

    6 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

    2 teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring

    2 teaspoons garlic powder

    2 teaspoons ground black pepper

    salt to taste

    1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce

    2 cups water



    DIRECTIONS

    Preheat oven to 275 degrees (135 degrees C).

    Place roast in a large roasting pan and scatter chopped onions over.

    In a large bowl, combine Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Pour in beer, stir and add to roasting pan. Add water to the top of beef.

    Cover and cook in oven at 275 degrees F (135 degrees C) for 4 to 5 hours.

    When meat is cooked, shred meat with 2 forks, add barbecue sauce and mix well.
