Go to Petfinder.com and enter your zip code as if you are looking for a horse. The animals that show up will be in rescues serving your area.

Please also contact your towns Animal Control Officer for info.

Chippewa County Animal Control Shelter and Mackinaw County Animal Control they are on pet finder.   I know for sure two horses were just taken a couple months a ago here in Chippewa:)
