I need career advice?

Ive been watching the show "NextWorld" on Discovery channel for awhile now and it really sparked my interest in developing new, futuristic products. My question is though what did these people developing these futuristic things major in in college? Or what did they study to get their jobs?

Any majors or specific colleges would be appreciated! Thanks!
